Xiaolei Song is an Associate Professor at the School of Biomedical Engineering, Tsinghua University, specializing in metabolic MRI and multimodal imaging fusion. Her research focuses on label-free MRI techniques that integrate metabolic information into conventional imaging, with applications spanning clinical diagnostics and preclinical studies of energy metabolism and inflammation.

She has published over 50 original research articles in leading imaging and radiology journals and holds more than 30 patent applications, including over 10 granted. Three of his technologies with fully independent intellectual property have been recommended by the European glioma MRI guideline (gliMR.eu), where she ranks as the most-cited corresponding author and the only contributor from China.

Dr. Song previously held a tenure-track Assistant Professorship at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where her work was selected among the university’s annual research highlights.
