Qiyuan Tian is a national high-level young talent, and a Junior Fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM). He received his BEng degree from Fudan University in 2011 and MS and PhD degree from Department of Electrical Engineering of Stanford University in 2013 and 2017. He conducted master's and doctoral research in the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Lucas Center for Imaging of Stanford University, under the supervision of Professor Brian Wandell, a Fellow of USA National Academy of Sciences, and Professor Jennifer McNab, a Fellow of ISMRM. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Harvard Medical School-Massachusetts General Hospital Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, under the supervision of the Martinos Center Vice Director Professor Susie Huang, and was promoted to an Instructor of the Department of Radiology at Harvard University in 2021. He joined Tsinghua University in 2023 and founded the Lab for Brain Imaging Research at Tsinghua (BIRTH), utilizing facilities and resources of the Tsinghua Center for Biomedical Imaging Research and Non-Human Primate Research Center. His research focuses on the development of new MRI and neuroimaging technologies, for investigating brain structure and function, as well as brain diseases and their diagnosis and treatment methods. Dr. Tian has participated in a number of national scientific research projects as a Principal Investigator or a co-Investigator and published more than 60 papers in international journals such as Cell, Nature Communications, Advanced Science, Medical Image Analysis, NeuroImage, Cerebral Cortex, and Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, with 4 authorized patents and more than 2,600 citations. He has received the US National Institutes of Health K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award, Stanford Graduate Scholarship, Qualcomm Innovation Scholarship, the Overseas Chinese Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (OCSMRM) Young Investigator Award (twice), and the ISMRM Cum Laude Merit Award. He is the Secretary of the MRI Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Stereology, a standing committee member of the Neurological and Psychological Imaging Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Cognitive Science, as well as a committee member of the MR Professional Committee of the China Association of Medical Equipment, the Medical Image Computing Symposium (MICS), the Medical Imaging Professional Committee of the China Society of Image and Graphics, the MRI Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Stereology, and the Academic Committee of Xiamen City Key Laboratory of Psychoradiology and Neuromodulation.
